Our Mission

Our mission is to provide service to young children and their families that would encourage the children to excel and empower their parents to do the same; by providing them with an environment that is peaceful, welcoming and inviting; within a professional but yet fun environment with providers who continue their learning and training in early childhood education.

Our Philosophy

We believe in providing a safe and healthy environment where children can grow and learn. We believe that showing children love and affection in a caring environment will help them to learn and be part of something special. By doing this they open themselves up to new and wonderful experiences. This will not only help them to grow and develop during the early childhood years, but they will also continue to carry that knowledge and the skills with them to become well-rounded teenagers and adults.

We believe that surrounding children with educators who are fun-loving, creative and excited about the growth and development of children sets the foundation for building their future and build their future and character.

How It All Began

In 1997, Lisa and Willie Johnson had their third child who needed extra care. Lisa found it difficult to work away from home and see to the needs of her children. Staying at home was not an easy decision to make considering they desperately needed both incomes to survive.

It was this crucial time in life that Lisa truly put her faith to action, quit her job, and began to care for her young children.

While at home at home, many friends and family members from the community had a desire to stay home with their children but were unable. These families sought the care of Lisa considering it was someone they knew and trusted. This is just one example of God being in control of your life if you really allow Him too. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts I have towards you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you expected end."

It was because of her ability and willingness to trust in God that Mrs. Lisa Johnson went from the "Neighborhood Nanny" to the owner of Lisa's Safe Haven I, Lisa's Safe Haven II, New Beginnings Christian Childcare, Merchants of Hope Enrichment Academy and Safe Haven Academy I and II.
